Just as the throttle plate opens all the way the two linkages touch. I'm thinking it should be a smooth throw and not hop when it touchs together. It gets some resistance as it goes to open all the way.

Umm, I'm not quite exactly sure what you mean, but...
The throttle should open smoothly all the way. The mid-73+ throttle body (the kind in your movie) has the extra spring on it just in case the first breaks. I believe that it should pretty much just sit there while the main linkage, the one with the long skinny coil spring that hooks to a bracket on the manifold, does the work.

It wasn't opening in smoothly. It hung up like 4/5 the way up to full. Since you said it should open smoothly with no bind. I sanded a tad of the metal tab and now it has a smooth motion. Thanks again Dave
