I'm putting my car back together after a repaint. Unfortunately, I didn't disassemble the front turn signals. I've got the Camp914 euro turn signal kit installed, but it's been years since I installed it and I can't find the instructions for wiring.

When I look at the wiring diagram, I see just terminals 49R (or 49L) and 58, but when I look at the lights I've got terminals marked 57, 31, and BL. And then I've got the "hot" wire for the conversion.

The harness has Brown, Black/White, and Gray/Black wires.

Can anyone give me a clue how to put these lights back together?

I found my answer at Jeff Bowlsby's Site. He's got this great diagram:

Now the question is - do I wire it so both lights are on when my parking lights are on, or so that only the clear lower section is on and the upper amber functions only as the blinker?

All European cars have a clear sidelight (lower section in the case of the teener) / tail light on at 1st position of the light switch, 2nd position adds in the headlights. Amber only ever functions as direction indicator

My old black ex Cali 914 had the turn signals converted when she came over by the PO and functioned this way / same as all my other cars including the 911 which has lived in the UK all its life

If you have a park function, i.e. indicator stalk up or down, this lights up the left or right side light only. The 911, Audi and Landrover has this but the kids cheap Eurobox does not, so it's not universal. Not sure if 914s came with this function, my black 914 didn't if I recall correctly - Porsche saving cost on the 914 v 911?

Good luck and this is a job and is something I will have to do on my six eventually

Incidentally you are meant to be able to change the front side markers to be indicator repeaters - ie, flash with the turn signal - but still function as a side marker - by changing the wiring of the side marker bulb so that the earth/ground is connected to the +ve for the turn signal instead.

Thanks guys!

is that what that is, a "park" function? i just noticed the other day, turning off the car but the lever was up so the side marker light was on, not flashing, key turned to off position.

AND one other realization along this line about the flasher, i always thoght my flasher was bad or not hooked up correctly, because it didint flash when pulled BUT, by accident i was testing this due to having a short in the right front turn signal bucket with the euro conversion wiring, and accidentally i flipped the signal stalk up when the flasher was pulled out and it was flashing! SO is this normal or is it miss-wired? i have to have the lever up or down not in neutral position for the flasher to flash when pulled.
