Among the many projects I plan on tackling over the next few months is "shaving" the door handles. Here is a crappy photoshop job showing a 914 minus the door handles...
Anyone else like the shaved look?

The Cadillac XLR has a similar door handle in that they shaved the handle and kept the indent at the back , so you can slide your hand in and pull open the door, eliminating the need fop a popper.
I like the look, as long as you have a safety release in case of battery drainage, that is if you are using electric openers.

I did this twice to a couple of VW Bugs some 15-16 years ago. Little key fob remote opened the driver door only. I agree with Graig, be certain you have a back up method of opening the door. A dead battery can yield, well you not getting into your car without breaking a window.
Like the look? Love it! If you do it, post lots of pics!

I didn't think this would be the sort of thing I'd be "into", but looking at the white car I have to admit it looks extremely clean. I like.

Yeah I agree. I usually don't like the rockers and bumpers painted to the body. But for some reason that color on that car with those wheels works for me.

I like it too, really clean. Back when I did it, I had to mod a car alarm and use a start seleniod with home made cables etc. That kit for $219 seems like a good deal to me.
