As Mark says thin chrome,but they most likely won't be pot metal so will be stronger,which ever way they won't break easily but the chrome will go first.
SMC do have a fair amount of rubbish parts ask me how I know,sorry but just my experience.
POS!! Door lock cores do NOT fit correctly. Chrome is beyond bad.
