It's only got 63 miles on it. Still in break in. And you get one of those cool yellow stickers with a horse on it.

Good thing my engine bay's too short, or I'd be on it!

Talk about a pain to tune and sync those carbs.

That is actually damn cheap and a real bargain at that price!

I have a few classic Ferrari's (pre 1970) in my collection and the cost of parts is absolutely absurd, the engineering isn't that great either. I've heard of fellow owners paying figures with 7 decimal places for engines.

Tuning the carbs isn't so bad when you work methodically. Colombo's only have 3 twins (standard).
My Aston has 4 twins, but even that is ok when you've practiced.
I also have a Colombo twin cam in one of my other Ferrari's with twin K jetronic (twice a 911 set up) that gives me more headaches than carbs.

CG might be a bit high for us......looks like the trans is under the engine.

Searching,I haven't found a 400 in that colour,must have been a custom request.

And yes,I like what they did to a flood survivor,the approach retaining the lines Pininfarina sculpted.
Though the shape reflects the flanks better in a light metallic tone,as the factory determined.

The OHMSS year Series 1 had the straight 6 as the intended Tadek Marek V8 wasn't production ready until 72.
I have an early V8 series 111(post the dreaded trial of mechanical fuel injection series 11) and pre oscar india when they went all flared arches and bonnet bulges ending up looking like Silvester Stalones mom.

It's the last Aston model of the pure David Brown design.

As for those Maserati V8's there's a good reason why they are cheap!

The real money's in the old pre 1970's Ferrari Carb engines. Carbs manifolds and linkages alone can cost around $50K used upwards. Here's just 3 used carbs..

Engine blocks are around $40K, refurbished heads $50K, pistons, rods etc $20K, exhaust/mufflers $8K, Pumps, generators etc another $10K
it goes on and on and on. The simplest bolt or bracket can cost you $1000's. As I said earlier there's no rhyme or reason for this, the engineering isn't anything special. The only thing that's special is the price.

It's a very rich, brave or foolish man who puts a Ferrari engine in some other car than for which it was intended!

Exactomundo,the lowball 400s a steal in the 50K range.
A poorly maintained example will go for less,the repair work the same as any latemodel hatchback's drivetrain.The brand and the prices the major hurdle.

I always liked the designs,the Mustang's English cousins,so sophisticated and luxurious.
They are now classic,but at the time an understated Italian looking work of art.
Aluminum too,that light metal that makes faster.
The later mods are great in their own way too,like a roided bricklayer.

BRG,fin,fast,westbound,sounded awesome,must have competed at Mosport or Watkins Glen.
I have,in the '60-70s toiled on a DB4, and have attained intimate knowledge of whitworth threads.
A machinist since '68,worked on spacecraft,undersea vessels and tools for heavy industry.
Currently working on a 914 of a different style,for those poor rusted chassis' in fields.
Hopefully the design will be recognizable as a 914,morphed into the '90s and contemporary times.

A former employer had an affinity for the Stallions,and I recall his black 512BB and later TR were glorious.
We all inspected the cars as he changed them as often as seasons,a successful large machine co owner.
He drove them daily,wore them out,tracked them.A popular pre-race to the Montreal F1 is the Ferrari Challenge on Isle Notre Dame.
He's the one that does the hairpin right.
