I think it's an Elise (two versions ago) with only the suspension, chassis and engine.
The new cars have an integrated roll bar.
Still... it's amazingly simple looking.

that is mid-engine.....those are similar to the MR2's, a FWD platform moved to the middle/back of the vehicle
