I have replaced the boot floor and now need to know if i should/can refit the heatshield that sits above the muffler?

I have an aftermarket muffler from roger bray which has an oval silencer box rather than cylindrical.

Is it going to be a heat issue if i leave the shield off?

The factory thought so, otherwise it wouldn't be there ...

It is important especially if you drive in a hot climate or traffic situations.

Cary did mine and made it so that it was also removable

It is removable on early cars.
Certainly on 6cyl. not sure about 4cyl.
6 Phillips screws.

Leave it out ? Don't transport your ice cream in the trunk.

My trunk gets warm with the heat shield, I'd hate to see how hot it would get with out one.
