After the RABY interest, then loss of interest due to the financial shock I am looking for recommendations on air cooled rebuilding professionals in the mid west.

Live in MN, so Minneapolis, St. Paul area.

Thanks
SirAndy
McMark used to have a $5k engine program. Not sure if that is still running. PM him ...

And he's in the Midwest now too!

McMark, FAT performance, and 914ltd.com

All worth checking out, all have good reputations

Bill Jenkins can build, he made a 2.9 for me once.

Don't shy away from shipping to an engine builder - it's not that expensive and opens up your selection of builders.

Also agree with r_towle's recommendations.

Sorry to hear this, he lives only a few miles from me and i drive by his place daily, all his stuff and cars are still sitting out like he should still be there. I had Bill rebuild 3 engines for me, never had any problems. RIP

His daughter is the executor. I believe she reopened the shop in February. So, you can still have an engine built by the shop.
If someone with patience were to catalog and sell his stash? 6 - 7 figures?

Yeah, Aaron does 911's exclusively.

Thank you all for the great suggestions.

I do have some time before I make the decision on where to bring the engine.

Either that or I try the engine rebuild myself.....I have done a few American V8's all Carbureted, a couple of Allis Chalmers WD 45's and few Oliver Dozers with some air cooled atv's sprinkled in the mix.

So I do have a pretty good understanding of Basic mechanics and the workings of the internal combustion engine.

That being said is there a rebuild "Kit" and or Manuals that would be complete that anyone could comment on or recommend?

Thank you
