Here is ignorance talking....(ie...me)
Do you know whether I need a 914-6 accelerator rod, if installing a 2.7 liter engine, as opposed to the stock 2.0. I presume I do, because of engine configuration....and that a 914-6 rod will fit with the 2.7 application.
IF I do, may I purchase this item?

Paul: you'll need the bellcrank that mounts to the trans and cables.
