Piston rings? Valve guides? What am I looking at? Car has not been driven in a while. Fresh oil change, new plugs and ignition. Just started using 91 octane. 1976 2.0, fuel injection. Moroso ignition change over.

Right now car is in the shop getting all new rotors, all new wheel bearings, brake master cylinder, brake hoses.

Also, fan blower does not work, the levers just move but no fan or air. Suggestions on that? I only want it for defroster and fresh air.

Good chance it's valve guides. Have someone look at the tailpipe when you coast down from high RPMs with the throttle closed. Smoke there means bad exhaust guides.

Heater on/off is controlled completely by the lever between the seats that has the "DEFROST" label next to it. Pull the lever up, the engine fan should push some warm air into the cabin. Pull it up all the way, the fan should come on.

If the fan doesn't come on, the most likely culprit is the switch under the lever.

If you get no warm air, check the large heater hoses under the car.

Nice. Did you already replace the fuel lines in the tunnel with stainless steel?

Not yet. Going to do that when I get the floor pan replaced.
