Anybody know any online service that I can get info of a 914 using the VIN #?
I bought this 1975 914, and the former owner had it for parts, but the car is so go condition that really hurt part it out.
It came with the original fuchs, the top dash does not have a single crack, and bodywise is pretty good. So, I was thinking of getting this car register and restore it.
It does not have the license plate. I went to KBB, and there sent me to Autocheck.com. I paid and when entered thin VIN, the autocheck gave the make, model and year, and the last time somebody put information was in 2001.
It is not showing register to anybody
No theft, damage, report.
Is this autocheck.com a good one to check?

Thanks for the help

The DMV can do it, you just need a bill of sale and a form signed by the legal owner (the seller)

Hopefully the link below works.

I have used a service for another vehicle of mine when I had registration problems.

The thing is, that the former owner bought it to part it out. He does not have any info at all. No registration, no title, nothing.

Can he read and write? smile.gif

I've registered cars with nothing more than a bill of sale written on a piece of binder paper. Paperwork and inspection by the CHP followed (I think the DMV can do the inspection as well)

Are you a member of AAA? They can walk you through the process.

I recently went through this process with my 914. The guy who gave it to me had to create a bill of sale ($1) and then I had to have a notary come to his house to have him sign some paperwork that basically said he had no paperwork. Then I had a to hire a vehicle verifier to come to the house to verify my vehicle. (AAA could have done this for free, but I would have had to drive my 914 to them, and it does not run.) The notary, the vehicle verifier, the DMV fees... it all came to like $150.00. I got my pink slip in the mail 2 weeks later. Sweet.

Way to go. Save that car don't scrap it. I can probably put my arm through the hell hole of my car but I am going to save the damn thing too.

Thanks to all you. I called DMV, and I Talked to a technician. She went through the whole thing with me, and yes, the porsche will be saved.
It's a 1975. It was berber yellow, but it was painted black.

Thanks again
