During a meeting in France I spotted two different european 1975 Porsche 914, one from Swizerland the other from Italy, and both had the same model of window crank. And this crank is very different from the one seen on the Dr Johnson's book

Here is a picture of this crank . Both owner claimed it was original but it looks more like a 911 crank to me ... Witch one was installed in 1975 ?

This is the crank showed in the "originality" book... btw this is the one I have on my car and it is a crappy reproduction from which the knob jiggles and pops out from time to time.

Top one came from a VW Rabbit. Not sure of the year though. Ironically, the bottom one was from early rabbit too.

Thank you for your answers. So, no sign of a different crank in Europe ?

I got the top crank wrong, it is from a Jetta not Rabbit. No difference on Euro cars from USA models.
