I have a 1973 Porsche 914 2.0L (4x130 wheel bolt pattern).

I am thinking I can get a set of wheel adapters to change it to 5 x 130, a set of 5 lug Fuchs Replicas (http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ACC-C10-6649) - with 5 inches backspacing and 205 width tires.

Does anyone with a stock fendered 914 run this combo? Any chance it will work with 205 width tires? Car will see street use - no track or autox at this time, so the adapters should handle the load without issues.

No it won't work. Those 4-5 lug adapters are crap. For mild street use it might be okay. They still would not fit. The adapters add an inch. So such replica's would not work. You might get later offset 911 wheels to work. Having said all that. If you want to go 5-lug do it right. You can do it reasonable using all your stock 4-lug parts & drilling.

I don't think they will fit, they will still hit I believe. If looking at those $50 adapters those look like the cheap cast I got on a parts car once. I promptly cut those up on my band saw so as to not let anyone else I know run them!

Not hard to test it, just use your current wheels to mock it up using the numbers you supplied.
