I just finished replacing all three of my old tired and foggy original center console gauges (Clock, Oil Temp, & Volts) with brand new VDO Cockpit Series gauges.
The Oil Temp and Volts gauges illuminate at an even brightness and have that vintage background incandescent look. However, the Clock gauge illuminates with a very bright white illumination that that passes through all the lines and numbers on the clock. The clock is almost twice as bright as the other two gauges (attached pic).

Has anybody else experienced this? I would have thought gauges marketed as a "series" would all have the same general look as to brightness.

Take the bulbs out and compare them. Bottom two should be the same and the clock will need to be changed to match.

Replace with Red LEDs. Easier on the eyes at night.
