I'd been wondering about this for a while . . . thoughts?

FWIW, they're all 12V units, tachometer is marked 4Zyl, so should be plug and play. Glasses are a little foggy/dirty (on inside dry.gif ). I do like they way the gauges on the combo instrument are on the sides . . . maybe they'd be less blocked by the steering wheel?

I may have to put them in just to make sure they all work biggrin.gif

I have to wonder though, if any of the original teener prototypes had these? Hard to know since most protos were destroyed, but I still wonder?

That is very cool. I like that. Very nice.

Always wanted to do that, as I love the green face gauges. They look great!

I may be wrong, and not trying to be an ass, but I believe 67 was the last year for the green faces.

You may be right--I mis-read the date stamp. Speedometer is stamped May, 1967.

Having my gauges re-silkscreened from 70s to 50s and 60s specs is on my list of things to do…

If add the led back lights so you can see them at night.
Vapor_locked
I'd use LED lighting in them as well. Please keep us updated on how these work out.

I always thought this would look cool to do. Those early green gauges are so much cooler looking than the 70's ones.

What's the speedo calibrated for? Did 912's run it off the trans like the 914, or off a front wheel like a Beetle?

912's used a 901 or 902 box. They were a Porsche, not a VW.

Way back in the old days Chuck Stoddard did a project 914 6 using plenty of factory GT parts.
Among other things he used early 911 green face gauges 'for nostalgia reasons '
It's a great look.
