I was under the impression that the 1.7L was original thru 73, then 1.8L in 74 and on up to 2L in 75? I am trying to document value of my original condition 73 1.7L, but PCA has valuations for only 1.8 and 2 in 73 model year. I need some authentic info if available, but can't find much straight talk from reliable sources.

70-73...1.7/4
70-72....2.0/6
73-76...2.0/4
74-75...1.8/4

At least from what I've seen....

The PCA valuation is only for 73-76 2.0's and original '6's.

If you need a valuation guide in print try the November '04 issue of Excellence

According to Johnsons book there were 2 diff 1.7's available in '73.
If you have an EA # you get 80 HP and 8.2:1 compression.
If you have a EB # you only have 72 ponies and 7.3:1.
