Full Version: Too nice for a parts car? Cut up or sell?

Hi World - I got this '72 roller / tub as part of a package deal. Here are the stats:

THE BAD:
- had an engine fire
- driver side fender and rear quarter have been replaced (but seems like a pretty nice repair)
- passenger side fenders cut for flares
- passenger front corner accident. Looks like it'd need the front A-arm points checked

THE GOOD:
- appears to be no rust - solid hell hole and rockers
- nice door, hood/trunk gaps
- replacement sheet metal for the passenger front corner accident was included
- clean title
- came with a set of fiberglas flares (or is that a BAD?) biggrin.gif

THE SITUATION/MY PERSPECTIVE:
My existing project car needs a rear trunk panel, doors and some other minor sheet metal parts. I really don't want to cut up this one as it seems like someone with a rusty car would be way ahead swapping over to this chassis, needed repairs aside.

THE QUESTIONS:
Am I off base to think someone would want this as is?
Let me know what the market says and I can move to the Classifieds if I decide to sell it.

Thanks much,
Chris

Sell it, I'd hate to see a rebuildable tub get cut up.

In my world, little to no rust + title = builder

I think somebody would be thrilled to get their hands on this thing.

WAY too solid to cut up, somebody on the East Coast would love to have that as a base for a project.

Looks like the panel gaps are pretty decent....doesn't look to bad.

There have been more in worse shape than this one, and have been saved.

I think its a keeper

Thanks for your input!
Good to see we're all on the same page and think this is certainly worth building. Now let's see who might want it and what it's worth.
Give me a few days and I'll get it posted in the Classifieds.
Tell your friends!
Thanks again,
Chris

Since they aren't making any more of them eventually we are going to run out of low rust bodies to restore. I suggest selling to preserve the marque.
