Must have been used in some ultra low budget movie or something. And at the end of the film they destroyed it like in Vanishing Point and this is what's left.

If you were rich, really bored, and obsessed with 1960s sci-fi B/C movies, you could totally make a weird "futuristic" "jet car" out of that with a giant wrap around bubble windshield and rad knight rider style lights. You'd need quite a bit of weed and maybe some LSD or mescaline for the vision, but in the end you'll be set for the "21st Century," safe from 1986's WWIII atomic fallout, synced with the robot overlords, and ready to outrun the Soviet animal-human hybrid commandos that roam the portion of California that broke off into the sea in 1994. And if you have enough drugs, you could even put a MM2200 graphic on the side with some groovy red star stripes for cruising Mars in the hottest new car from Mars Motors.
I don't do drugs, but I'm crazy enough to see it. However, I'm not crazy, high, or dumb enough to do it.

I could also totally see that in the original Death Race 2000.

I should have asked "what else they butchered"
It's the single seat cockpit,
stereo speakers and four-banger powerhouse combination that make it a race car, right? I need to know because I don't want to make the same mistake and ever accidentally build something like this
I know better

Arrgh!
Wow!Some congratulation is deserving for achieving the simple, crude forms. That roof, reminiscent of ragtop 'A's,is out of place though.
Perhaps suitable for some sci-fi B-movie set,the hero's ride,an atomic powered levitation machine, and why the wheels are missing.
Click to view attachment A plan and some decent skill, why, one could hammer out a dream 'sports'car.A little imagination, and voila!A passable shape.
RSR Fuchs sets off the revised shape, tho the headlamps from a 996/986 may be more appealing.

Incredibly, some of the most iconic automotive art is,in fact, hand hammered.
The reason that grp renditions are less costly than the millions for the originals.
A copy of anything,is still ersatz,not genuine,tho still beautiful.
A few years of pounding metal under the supervision and instruction of a master, and you too could create such art.
Pointed to a sheet of half hard ally,'Make an XKE's bonnet',in a few week's work.

What a great idea,a super-stiff steel monocoque(unibody),with a cage and wishbone suspension to carry the big rubber.
And yes,it is a awd, long after the 959.So,the idea is not that far fetched,...'Hmm,an awd 914,wouldn't that be nice'
