Hello. I am attempting to replace parking brake. Question- how do you remove the piece on the brake that attaches to the cable. It appears it is a rivet. I thought it would be some type of bolt. There is always a curve ball thrown in. Thx.

It's just a pin that is seized in the eye on the cable. There was a clip to keep it in place. you can see the groove for it in the second pic. If you can pull the pin on the spreader piece at the other end of the cable you should be able to remove the handle with the cable so you can heat and soak the pin to loosen and remove it.

Emj, would the pin be where the left and right cables meet?

Thanks for your assistance!

This is the frozen/rusted pin ......... PB blaster and then gently sand and then find "keeper" that secures it ....Click to view attachment
