Saw this car on Evil-bay and notices something fishy about the rockers...is that a vent/scoop at the jack plate hole??

If so is it something that is avail. somewhere...?

Yeah, those are unusual.

The thing in the ad that scares me is: "all new wiring".

Only 1 picture? Most ads have at least 3. Mabey this car only has 1 good side?

He probably saw and copied Chuxter's ideas on the rocker panel air scoops:

It doesn't look as bad as I had imagined. The seats match the dash and armrests at least.

The add says the wheels are original. If that's the case, it should be a 2ltr engine.
JWest
Most (if not all) '76s were 2.0L.

Good point!

ASAIK all '76's were 2.0's
Aaron Cox
yup, no 1.8's made since 75....what does ASAIK mean?
Bleyseng
Supposed to be one 1.8L 76 made that I have heard of, DD talks about it.

It would stand for "as far as I know" if I would have typed an "F" instead of an"S". My bad. rolleyes.gif

I think this is one beauty of a car (even if it does have the bigassbumpers). The combo of the black & tan interior really sets it off. The add does state it's a 2.0. He also says it belongs to his father that wants a vette (I did the other way around... sold my vette for Punkin!). I would think with all the upgrades, or work done on the car, new wiring would be a plus... but it does kinda make you think "why", eh? idea.gif

More strangeness. Those wheels couldn't have possibly come with the car in 1976.

Here

Those are aftermarket Fuchs. Note the plastic caps that don't fit the original wheels. Also the lug openings are countersunk for use with shorter lug bolts (VW).

Hmmmm..
