The discussion of body mounts for 6 Cyl cars/conversions made me think about 4 Cyl cars.

Years ago I made a set of solid mounts (aluminum) for my 2.4 engine. I then trimmed the ends of the cross bar so it would hang at the correct height under a set of 911 engine mounts placed in the body.
I was fairly happy with the results.

I now see there is a nylon engine mount kit, but a few people complain about too much engine vibration.

So I was thinking of using the nylon kit (no rubber near the oil and heat of the engine), and then a set of 911 mounts in the body. Instead of trimming the cross bar, it looks like I can flip the mounts (and maybe space them up with a washer).

Any thoughts? Maybe use "Sport" mounts?

Anyone know why the 914/6 mount was so different from the 911 mount of the day?

Would there be any advantage to a body mount for a 4 Cyl engine?
