So I recently bought a 911 front suspension that needs to be rebuilt, which are my winter plans.

Biggest thing are the ball joints are absolutely trashed(they don't even move) and I wanted to replace those first.

I asked my dad(operates a CNC) if he could design and cut a ball joint socket. Gave him an extra control arm from the 914 suspension I recently took off the car and he made the following.

It fits absolutely perfectly. Using an impact wrench, the ball joint nut came off very easily. This is a two piece construction with the outside ring being a press fit.

Gave it a little primer and paint to protect it from rust.

I know you can buy these, but my dad loves doing projects like this.

Our next project is to use his skills to cut the rear hubs to the 5x130 pattern and also cut the rear brake rotors to match. We plan to make a boss for the rear of the hub and weld those on for the studs.

Edit: Apologies everyone, this was meant for the garage. Mods can this post be moved.
