I've removed the original sprung rods for the trunk lid and replaced with gas struts.

I was given measurements and strut data which i've followed. However my trunk lid will not close fully as the body of the strut sits on top of the inner wheel arch.

I'm a little confused as to the solution.

If i move the bracket forward along the wing it rises with the curvature but if i move it back toward the lights then it pulls the body back from the wheel arch.

Can someone advise the correct solution?
