So last weekend I noticed that the back brakes were making a scraping noise and decided to check on them on Sunday of course the inside pads was worn.
I ordered new rotors, pads and everything else except the 2 screws for the rotors, which I drilled out.
Now the teener is on jack stands and don't get me started on the ass dragger. It has a flat tire on a brand new tire.
I have all the parts except the screws, so a trip to the hardware store and then complete the brake job tomorrow.
Wish me luck.
Going to make this trip hell or high water.

Foo, I have to back out. I'm racing at Auto Club Speedway for the next four days. Will look forward to the pix. Have a drink in the parking lot for me, and a toast (or toke) to Ron, OK?
Hey, my new race car numbers just showed up today! (New at top, old at bottom):

Ravi, don't worry too much if you can't source those little screws right now ... once you bolt your wheel(s) up, the rotors aren't going anywhere and you can replace the screws at your leisure after the run.

Remember to bring the GO Pro's if you have one. There will be appx 4 hr's drive time in the mountains with lots and lots of twisties. A few strategically located cams within the line of cars could result in one Hell of a video once edited down to 5-10 min's.
Good news bad news. First the good, I just sold my engine as a key step in the journey I am already well onto installing my 911 six 2.7 Ltr. Now the bad, I will not be able to attend "Route 66". I have a reservation ($174.90) at the Silver Pine Lodge for night of Sat. 22nd. Will not cancel until later today making it available to another Teener.
See you at Mammoth with my six

Here is the update
Worked from home today and found the screws at Ace hardware store. Installed one side and as I was finishing up the second one I had an emergency at work. I was on the phone for 3 hours because some idiot screwed up. Finished the 2nd brake bleed them and noticed that it was leaking brake fluid from where you adjust the brakes. At 9:30pm I just called it done.
I also got the tire repaired on the ass dragger, so unfortunately I will bringing that instead.
See everyone tomorrow morning

That's what happened to me back in 2007. As I was adjusting the venting clearance on the 'BB', they started leaking. Since I had to buy new rear calipers, went ahead and bought new fronts as well - just wouldn't have them in time.
The nice thing is, you can drive anything you want on these 'runs' ... it's the people that make the events worth attending. I just have too many items on my plate to break away right now, even for a week end
Have fun, boys & girls

Hey everybody, I made it back to PHX at 1100, 5 hour drive. Had to frinckle with the car this AM to get it to turn over. It really feels like the ignition switch. I want to thank Kent and John for planning and MC'ing this event. I drove 1085 miles roundtrip and a couple hundred were on the best mountain roads I've driven and met (and re-met) some great people. All I have to say about that is the Southern California boys have some damn nice cars.
I also want to than Leaman, Rob, and Mark for fixing my loose Bilstein in less time than it took me jack up the car (thanks Strat for the jack) and remove the wheel. Drive safe and see y'all at WCR.
