I knew I had them somewhere. It pays to do some Spring cleaning even in the fall.

Now to spend the Winter (yes Winter is Coming) rebuilding these bad boys. The manifolds are getting the Pine-Sol treatment.

All of them are Italian except one set from Spain and one set of Empi (which work great and were on the car up to last week..

hoarding!!!!!

Brant - you are very right. I have owned a 914 since 1978 (still have it) and there was a time (before the Internet and eBay) when I grabbed everything I could.

3 storage units later...

Things are so much better now with vendors making good repop parts.

Sir Mike, you have 3 914s and that will justify to have several sets of it.

i only have this set of empi for a year and even sold it to a friend. Actually now I am thinking why i sold it.

Thanks Noel for justifying my illness, but only one has carbs... smile.gif

I have that exact same EMPI setup except I have Tangerine Racing throttle cable linkage - works really well.

So if you had a 914 that needed carbs would you buy Webers or EMPI's?

If I had to choose I would pick Italian Webers.

I have had EMPIs on the car for a few years and they work fine for me.

Jake Raby once mentioned the EMPIs are good but have a minor flaw that he used to correct with 30 minutes of shop time.

Keep in mind that no carb is a plug and play. Tuning and jetting are part of the process. Also throwing carbs on an engine with a stock cam is a performance downgrade IMHO - but it will run.

Dellorto!

Of course Dells - but that wasn't a choice. wink.gif

Dellorto 40s breathe like Weber 44s. I wish my stash had been Dellortos....
