Hello All,

I'm looking sell my 1976 914.

She's seen better days and I've been dragging her around for more years than I care to admit with the intent of eventually fixing her. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to be moving and very likely won't have garage space to store her anymore.

Pictures are worth a thousand words; so you can find 'em here: (Sorry couldn't figure out how to resize them with the |img| tag and HTML doesn't seem to work?)

Car was switched over to a single carb before I bought it and was daily driven between June 2005 till Octoberish 2006. She began running awfully (I can't rightly remember what the sound/feel was like anymore) on the way home one day and wouldn't idle without giving her gas. I never got the motor out to figure out what was going on since I noticed the rust hole in the lower firewall around that time and let it sit with the intent of doing body work at the same time. Last time she drove under her own power was in June of 2009 when I drove her onto a tow truck to haul her to college with me. Interior was gutted at that time with the intent doing body work (Reality set in and ramen became higher on the budget priority list than sheet metal). Unfortunately, the garage I had her in flooded with a few inches of water when a storm drain clogged. The car was on stands and staid dry but the interior carpet and back pad were on a bottom shelf and weren't salvageable when all was said and done. And that's about how she got to the state she's in now.

Engine is assumed rebuild-able and I've amassed a fair number of part to convert back to fuel injected.

I haven't been following prices but I'm going to take a swag at $850 OBO?

Let me know if you want pictures of anything else.

Thanks for the offer Ben. I'm going to have to pass but I'll keep your organization in mind.

Car is still for sale.

Just thinking out loud here. Wondering if the heat exchangers are stainless steel. Also, if both seats look like the one in the photo.

Parts: Heat exchangers, seats, steering wheel and center console, perhaps also door panels = > $1,000

Add the transmission, the block, etc. etc. etc. and $800 is clearly more than a fair price.

Seller should include engine code. Unless I missed it, he doesn't even mention if it's a 2.0 or not.

Were all '76's 2.0L only, with appearance group?

Thanks for the Reply Mike, Sorry the engine bay decal calls it out as a 120 c.i. and I thought I had reached far enough to catch the engine serial location in the shot of the bay. She's 2.0, the heat exchangers don't seem to pull a magnet so they are stainless as far as I know.

As for the seats, I just took a picture of the first one I grabbed. They look about the same. Both have some of the material pulling out from the headrest and could use a little TLC to repair/make look nicer. One of the seat adjustment loops popped off though (cracked at a casting inclusion). I believe I kept it around here somewhere with the intent of brazing it back on at some point, but can't remember where at this point.
