Last weekend I stirred my 914 out of its slumber while it was still dark. To my wonderful surprise, lights worked- taillights, headlights, license plate lights, trunk light too... I was reminded that the radio and HVAC also light up!

Sadly, when I went to turn on the fan, to get air blowing into the cabin, I got nothing. No noise, no sparks, just quiet.

So.. what are some suggestions to check - Contacts in the control unit? Fuse panel? What are the usual fail points? Do the motors seize up (not sure when it was last used)

TIA.

do the horn and lighter work?
I think they all share a relay, maybe wipers too?

I will have to double check, but I am pretty sure those items work.

Might just need a fuse wiggle. That can happen when it sits a while.

most likely corrosion on the sliding contacts of the dash levers.
