I am planning on welding a patch on the right long by the jack point,my question is at what point should i be concerned about warping and such as far as size and types of welding. Spot or long runs.
Its not a large area 6 or so inches

You never go long on our cars. Spot or a short stitch weld and let the area cool before you move on to the next weld.

A lot of that area is 2 layers. Sometimes you can cut out/off only the top layer to retain the strength. My .02c.
