is it worth the couple hundred bucks?

the weight savings is a big plus.

wonder if it draws less amps?

I have one. It made all the difference. My 2.6 4 would barely crank at all before I installed it. I think I saw one at: www.thesamba.com in the classifieds for $160 recently.

I've seen new one on EBay. Also Brad knows where to get them. You have to make sure to make it clear it is for a T-IV when ordering. Something to do with the length of the "nose" if I remember right.

R & B Performance in Parker, AZ. Uses a Hitachi gear reduction starter and machines a new nose for it. If you want contant information, let me know...As I remember, he gets about $160....$170 for them.

I have one that's like new, built by A-P Auto Electric.
I'll let you have it for $150 shipping included.
