Don't take me as gospel on the FI low pressure side having no clamps, I'm
not 100% on that.
But on
carb cars like the type one engined beetle, bus and T3, using OE german braided hose I am 100% sure VW never used hose clamps of any type. Pushed on far enough you couldn't get the hose back off without cutting it. Did this for years, never an issue.
I no longer use this hose as I see it cracking in as little as one year even with pure gas. Haven't seen a failure do to this cracking, but I'm taking no chances.
Now I only use SAE 30R9 even for carbs.
