When you have a re drilled rear hub (5 lug) is there certain rotors you cant use and can you use 911 ebrake with the 914 hub?

George Vellios used to make an adapter that allowed the use of the 911 rear brake assembly on the 914 trailing arms, but that was years ago. The basic rear discs can be used, though the caliper may need a bit of shimming to center it on the disc.

Obviously, if you use vented discs, you need to have the appropriate real calipers to fit over them. Eric Shea at PMB has some good info on his website you may find helpful.

You need 911 rotors. There is extra material inside the rotor where the e brake pads make contact. I'm not sure if you have to match your assembly with the correct year 911 rotor or if the iD of that area is the same for all years.

911 ebrakes don't drag on the rotors, they drag on their own drums. If you want to add them, buy tangerine racing's ebrake kit and contact bdstone on this site for a set of 911 ebrakes. Then buy rear M calipers and 914-6 rotors. Eric Shea had a thread of a 911 ebrake install on 914 trailing arms.

That's two separate questions.

First, if you have re-drilled rear hubs you can use the 914-6 rear rotors. You may have to shim the caliper outward a touch or take a bit of material off the outer edge, as some report a bit of interference with the caliper.

Second, if you want to use the 911 brake mechanism you have to use the 911 rear rotors, and do some fabrication to mount the mechanical calipers and the cables and so on.
