Out comes the tranny. WEVO shift parts are on the way.
I can't believe how dirty it is back there from the 2000 mile WCC trip. I'll have to get in there with some soap and a brush.

Shifter troubles?
Maybe you should put a 2270 in it?

I've listed the parts for sale here for $1500 (negotiable). If anyone wants them, it's a good price.
Otherwise, they're going back to Patrick. He know's they're coming.

You will be happy with the WEVO set-up...it makes it feel like a brand new 993.
Here is a picture of it installed on the tranny in the tube frame 914 racer...
What other WEVO bits did you get? I have the internal gate shift on mine, I can't wait to get my car together to try it out.

I have the shifter too. The gate shift mod is not in the budget right now as sorting out the tranny has become rediculously expensive.

Absolutely, but the notice on my trips has been very short lately.
We may just be airlining out in the morning to return here in the afternoon.
I would love to get together. Let's set something up when I know my schedule and have an overnight or two.

Hi Joe,
I see you didn't waste anytime pulling out the Vellios. You may be better off without the internal Wevo gate shift. It makes it a little harder to shift. Its intention is to prevent the 915 gearbox problem of selecting two gears at once. If I come to Sandia for the Pro Autosports Event this summer, you can drive my car with the gate shift and see if prefer it without the added parts.

Thanks Andy. That's a very nice offer. If you come out, you've got a place to stay. We're not very far from the track.
I've been kicking myself for not asking to drive your car at the WCC, but you know how it is. That's a lot to ask of someone.

Hey Joe and Andy, enjoyed going around "streets of Willow" with you guys! But it looks like I'm going to have to "improve my car" if I'm going to keep up with you guys.......(my little 3.0L/901trans may need to grow up). How about a 3.8L/G50 set up? robert d.

Though I don't have a setup like you guys, the 901 in my car is out also. The main shaft broke at WCC track day. After just having the engine rebuilt, this is going to be an expensive pill. Maybe at WCC06 I'll try to harrass some of you 3.8/915 guys with my lowly 2.7/901 setup.

Brad,
I have not driven a 914 Wevo without the gate shift. I have mixed feelings about the gate shift because the shift from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th have to be exaggrated (over and up). I have missed the shift from 2nd to 3rd too many times to count and that's with almost two years of track events on the car.
However, I think the gate shift does play a valuable role in saving the transmission from selecting two gears.
