Where is a good place to buy and what brand of fuel pump should I get?

I have a 1.7L engine.

I currently have a non-functional aftermarket one (the OEM ones are NLA).

Local FLAPS will have one. Napa, O'Reilley's, Autozone, etc....

Carbureted? Injected?

I have fuel injection.

If you have a 1.7, you probably have a three prong pump. Impossible to find. Convert over to a two prong pump. Easy to do because I did it. Got pump from NAPA.

I did that. The aftermarket, 2 prong pump went out. I could buy the same one, but I thought I'd ask anyone if they had a better, more reliable brand. Maybe I got a bad one.

What brand did you buy and about how much was it?

Is this for carbs or FI? Couldn't find it on Amazon among the 20 or so that showed up. Can't go by make and model since I'm looking for a non-OEM one.

E8445 is the model number and is great for the FI cars. I found this pump from other members here.
You can pick it up for under $70 on Amazon.

Hands down the best pump is Walbro, I won't even piss around with any other pump now.

But beware, when you are the best there will be fakes. On ebay, etc., if the prices are cheaper then they are on the Walbro site it's 99.9% guaranteed to be a fake.

These below are good for aftermarket EFI, but the small one also should work just fine on a stock 914.
By the time you add the fittings about the same price as above. If you do want to change the inlet/outlet sizes this is the best pump choice.

Road trips I carry a spare in the spare tire. But my fuel pump is in the spare tire well.

But if I was replacing mine now I'd go with Mark's suggestion.

Thanks for the info! I have a 1972 1.7L. Search results turned up nothing. But, will any of these pumps work anyway?

It does, thanks! It's currently $114 ($103 if ordered online and picked up).

Bosch 69133 on Amazon is $83. No brainer if you have Prime. That's where I got mine. Best upgrade I've done.
