Located in Daytona Beach (Port Orange) Florida
This car was built from a stock street car in 2008. The car was predominately
Raced in PCA GT5 but has legal cage for HSR, SVRA, SCCA, etc.
The engine is making 265 Flywheel HP and 230 RWHP at 8000 RPM.
Cams are Elgin 306/288. Aluminum case, shuffle pinned and boat tailed.
Supertec cylinder head studs.
I run Joe Gibbs oil and change it every race.
The engine has JB racing twin plug heads with lightweight JB racing specified
Valves.
The engine has JB Racing specified long Carrillo rods to improve thrust angle.
The engine has JB Racing Spec. J& E Pistons. 12.5:1 CR.
The engine has PMO 46's with ITG filters.
The engine has JB Racing Spec. 66 mm counter weighted crank with lightened
Rod journals and Chevy Clevitte race bearings.
The ignition system is twin MSD capacitive discharge with twin 6AL boxes and
Coils as well as MSD adjustable REV limiters.
The engine has JB Racing 12 point distributor and JB Racing lightweight flywheel
Body: The semi-tube frame cage was done by John Hammill (HAMFAB) in Albuquerque
John's incredible craftsmanship is seen in Bruce Anderson's book - The Porsche
911 Performance Handbook.
The car is setup as a roadster and has Roger Sheridan's body with some
Thoughtful Aerodynamic mods. The car will reach 157 MPH at Daytona.
The car has very large twin 993 oil coolers mounted in the spare wheel area.
These coolers will cool any size engine you could ever want.
They have a plenum that routes air though the coolers and out behind the
Front wheels.
Outside of the air routed to the coolers is custom fiberglass ducts and 3" hose
Routing air to the inside if the front brake rotors.
HAMFAB also made custom reinforced rear trailing arms and monoball pivot
Points for them.
Brakes:
HAMFAB also made his custom rear vented brake rotors with aluminum hats
That are lighter than solid 914-6 rotors.
Front brakes are Elephant Racing 28 mm vented rotors with aluminum hats and Boxster S
Calipers. Pads are Pagid yellow.
Fuel cell: 15 gallon Fuel Safe mounted in passenger footwell area...low.
Transmission:
I have 2 901 transmissions. Both have Billet Intermediate plates and side
Covers. Both have 904 mainshafts and I usually set them up as true 5
Speed - 5 active gear transmissions. I have a transmission cooler mounted in
Nose of the car to get the highest pressure coolest air.
One transmission has a brand new GT LSD. The other has a Quaife TBD.
Both transmissions have a custom HAMFAB monoball shift coupler to precisely
Guide the custom shift rod.
The firewall also has a monoball and the rods join via a WEVO JSD coupler.
The shifter is by Rennshift.
Rear deck lids:
I have one fiberglass deck lid with a fiberglass spoiler. With this lid I run a GT
Racing 60" wide Carbon Fiber wing with custom made uprights that are strong
And light.
I have a second Carbon Fiber decklid with attached Low Drag Daytona wing.
Both wings are adjustable and work great!!! However, some say they most
Likely slow me down??
My friend, Professional Driver and Driving coach Ron Zitza (who has co-driven with me) at Daytona and Sebring said he can go through turn one at Sebring faster in my 914 than he can in a Cup Car! Man, I wish I had some of his skill!!!!
