I'm in the process of installing the 914 Rubber double O-Ring speedometer drive sleeve. While taking things apart, I noticed that the angle drive at the end rotated freely 360 degrees. Is this normal, or should that part remain stationary?

In the picture, the screwdriver is resting on the piece that freely rotates. That piece rotates 360 on the piece with the nut that attaches to the sleeve.

Thanks!

When you rotate the protruding part, you should see the other side rotate. If it doesn't then its broken.

That works just fine.

Its the entire housing that the screwdriver is resting on that rotates freely. I'm trying to determine if that's normal and if it will leak by running it like that.

Bob - If it turns out you need a new one, just let me know. I have an extra or two.

Bob, I think that's normal. I've got two speedos that both do that.

Now put on some real pants and go scout out our Friday drive for Hershey smile.gif
