I keep track of 914/6 advertisements and I currently have information on over 1650 of the approximately 3360 914/6s that were built. There are very few cars in my database that are listed as being destroyed. Every year I find information on somewhere between 50 and 150 new VIN numbers. My best guess right now is that there are over 2000 914/6s surviving around the world. It might be as high as 2500.

I would expect the percentage of 914/4s surviving to be quite a bit less.

Hi Larry, do you know how many 914/6 came to the USA?
toolguy
Jeff, as I remember it was 1788 to USA officially. . That number is from the book, Excellence was Expected.

Interesting. So only about 56% of the /6s came to the US.

Information from the USA recall campaign indicates that 83,000 914/4s made it to the US, or about 72%.

It would be interesting to know how many /4s are still registered for road use. My guess is that the mortality rate for the 4 cylinder cars is much higher than for the 6 cylinder cars. I'm not sure how you could find that out but I'm sure there is a way if you know the right person or have access to the right system.

Nice to see that many 914's in one place. Even at the big C&C in Scottsdale every month there may be 3-4 914's in total. Must admit I don't take mine every time though.
Smaller C&C at Penske Musuem every month only 1-2 914's...
