Ok guys,
just started to tear into the 72 914. starting with the interior. I have removed the seats and the "backing" that goes behind and between the seats.
So , I do have some surface rust, mostly in the drivers side well. and the sound deadening layer has some wear holes in it. so do you guys remove all that sound deadening stuff - then start at bare metal? or just leave that alone, and get after the rust that is exposed?
Best tool for removing the rust? I do have electric grinding tools with the twisted wire column wire wheels, I also have air available, and a dremel tool. whats the most efficient way to get the rust gone, and back to bare metal?
and is there a good source for a carpet kit?
