I've had this car for ten years but I'm getting older and my Cayman is much easier to drive. It isn't a concours car, it is fully caged and has a few warts. It was tweaked by Stoddard years ago and has most of the mods in the Panorama article attached below. Engine runs strong but rich, still needs some tuning.

Original signal orange - color change to diamond silver metallic many years ago.
2.8 Liter 10:5:1 compression, built by John Truman on an early replacement case (no serial number). Hydraulic chain tensioners. TWM throttle bodies, Electromotive Tec-GT ECU.
Oil cooler in front trunk - second oil filter on ’72 911 filter console in engine bay.
Optima battery in front trunk.
Full roll cage tied into suspension points.
Recaro seats (worn area on driver’s seat)
Removable Momo “Competition” steering wheel
Crow five point harnesses
Early JWest Engineering Shifter - transmission converted to side shifter
Later style “pull clutch” - no clutch pulley.
Transmission has billet intermediate plate.

I think this is a very special six. If anything, it's underpriced. There is a category on the earlySregistry for other porsches. I would list it on the site. Quite s few guys on early S have 6's and they might appreciate this unique 6.

When you say early case do you mean aluminum case or early 914 case?

I don't know miles or hours - I have owned the car for 10 years and John Truman (formerly of Stoddard) built the motor. I believe it is an aluminum replacement case (no serial number). The lower valve covers are 6 bolt, not 11 like the later motors, but it does have hydraulic chain tensioners. The number on the case is 901.101.102.0R

Sale is pending - waiting for PPI

I just wanted to update to let members know that the sale of my car is pending awaiting a PPI. I will update again as I hear the results.

I love the pull on the fenders and quarter panels! Does anyone else finish them this way today?

I HATE those kind of flare jobs, BUT...., with that documentation, it is pretty legit to keep it that way.

My 914/6 passed its PPI and went to the new owner last week.[size=3][font=Comic Sans Ms]

Also met the new owner at the Werks Reunion. Nice car. Talked with him about either to restore it back to the way it was. It is one of a hand that were built. Yes it takes dollars to do it, but it would a beautiful car to own.

It is one of the Stoddard "massaged" cars, originally owned by Mike Valentine. The new owner has invested some bucks already and plans to do more.
