I have a loose connection leading to my throttle valve switch
Could you help me find a home (the right one) for this loose wire?
This is a 72 D-jet
There are four wires coming to the sensor from the FI harness but the plug has five slots.
The slot closest to the front of the car has no female connector to the sensor in the plug, I am not sure if this is supposed to be this way.
The second to the last (counting the one closest to the front of the car first) has a connector but no wire. I assuming this is where it goes but I wanted to be sure.
How do I go about reconnecting this so it will stay?
Thanks

sounds like you are talking about 4 individual wires to the switch. you probably know that there is supposed to be a "socket" type connector to plug into the throttle body "receptical", the 4 wires arranged correctly in the socket. one way to make the correct connections is to go to a wiring diagram and trace the wire connections. there are numbers on the connection points and they can be matched to the correct wires (at least, i have one for an L-jet harness and i think i did the same thing for a D-jet harness) as the ends of the wires had numbers on them also.

Yes, it does have a plug but one wire is loose from the plug
all four wires are the same color, white. I amd not sure If tracing them back is an option
I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right so I will try them both and see the response
How would I go about reconnecting the wire to the plug?
Solder?

Jim,
You were right upon closer inspection the wires were numbered and I referenced the numbers to the wiring diagram and figured it out.
Thanks
