914 Fuel Tank

Very good condition (a couple small patches of exterior surface rust)
Complete - All parts present.
Includes fuel gauge sender
Includes early model metal expansion chamber.
Includes early model metal gas cap.
Includes all mounting hardware - straps, buckle, etc.
Includes factory rubber pads in very good shape.
Still contains gasoline - never dried out inside - clean and corrosion-free.

Los Angeles area - Not shippable (still contains gas)
Buyer responsible for pickup

I think you are right. Changed when the charcoal filter went into the engine compartment - if I'm correct.

I have no problem lowering the asking price.

When I set my original price, it was based on the cost of a new
refurbished raw tank without any of the goodies - $650.

I'm kind of shooting in the dark here regarding used, but here
are some used prices I found parted-out:

Fuel tank - $170 used
Expansion canister - $60 used
Fuel gauge sender - $35
Fuel cap - $20 used
Rubber tank support buffers - $40
Fuel tank outlets with nuts - $30 new
Mounting straps and bridge - $20 used

That comes out to $375. More reasonable?

According to the parts diagrams, the two different tanks are '73 and earlier, and '74 and later:

Although the fuel lines change from '74 to '75.

If you can, show some pics of the inside of the tank. Pull the sender and shine a light in that opening. Take pic or two from the filler looking into the tank. Big value factor is the condition of the inside of the tank.

911 prices who knows ,the seller sounds a reasonable guy ?? maybe a suitable offer if the tank is clean and rust free,we don't know that yet......
