Where did you get the oil cooler shroud? It looks like it is made of steel.

Umm what exactly is pressed tin? I think you mean it is thin gauge steel that is pressed. " tin " is used in things like solder.

I checked with Patrick Motor Sports today and they told me that they only sell the fiberglass version of the oil cooler shroud.

I'm not sure if it's this one or another like it, but there's a pretty detailed thread on how a member here made that (or like it) somewhere on here... I thought I saved it cause I want to do the same thing... hissyfit.gif

I didn't want my bumper cut and wanted to keep the LE spoiler so this is what we came up with.

Yes,
The orange car is mine and I commissioned Mark to build a cooler similar to the Eastcoasters work.
The finish work and functionality was completed by Eric st PMB and his team.

Is there a measurement taken for the location of this mount installation, or is it perfectly centered on the firewall?

Centered. The ribs on each side at the engine firewall make it easy.

Heres a pic of my 3.2 motor mated to the trans. I have been asked why I didn't add some powder coating bling to the usual engine components.
This was on my list but I felt it was more wise to put those funds into my rebuilt trans.
I stepped up and had a WAVETRAC ATB Differential and a Patrick magnesium Intermediate Plate installed along with other goodies.
The engine bling can wait another day.

Engine bling in a 914 doesn’t really show much compared to a 911.
914forme
Be interested in how well the wavetrac does.

Get the car going, bling does not make a car go, and can always be added latter.

Now if I just heeded my own advise. dry.gif

Actually, not much shows at all if you keep your engine compartment closed.

Why a magnesium intermediate plate?
mag is only 65% as stiff as aluminum (it's tension modulus) In a gear case, stiffness is the key thing you need, you'd be better off with the stock aluminum int. plate.
That's why aluminum 911 engine cases are superior to mag.

Patrick's replacement intermediate plate is billet aluminum. smile.gif

That car is looking great!! Shouldn't be too long until you're driving, right?

Yes your correct it is billet aluminum, got it backwards. They removed the mag plate. Hoping Mr. Patrick will call me soon so I can travel
to Phoenix and trailer the car back to Calif for some PCH cruising.. driving.gif
