Hi all...
Last fall I bought and installed new made in Spain Weber 44's.
I have driven maybe 50 miles since installation. Today after I drive I smelled and noticed a fuel leak. Fuel was dripping off the accelerator pump adjustment rod under the diaphram housing. It was not coming from the housing itself but from under it, in the middle of the 2 barrels . It was a pretty good drip that started several minutes after shutting off the engine. It does not appear to leak with the engine running.
All I've done recently is installed larger idle jets and installed the rotary fuel pump from CB Performance.
Any and all help and advice appreciated.

Not an expert but since you replaced the pump could the pressure be too high and/or float levels off? Just thinking...

Well...we took the carb off and checked the float setting. It all looked good.
Cleaned the jets for good measure and put the carb back on the car.
Same problem. I drive the car and get it warmed up. After it's shut down for about 15 minutes it starts to leak. Looking down into the throats of the carb we can see gas dripping onto the butterfly. So, is this too much pressure in the float bowl or is it engine heat boiling the gas out the top of the float bowl??
Again, it's a NEW CB Performance fuel pump internally regulated to 3.5 lbs.
Also it only happens on one side of the engine.
All tips appreciated.

Do you have phenolic spacers between the heads and intake manifold or the manifolds and carbs?

You need some sort of thermal break there and they may not have come wth your kit.

they are black and look like plastic, are about 1/8 inch thick.

Hell I would have expected that from an Empi knockoff made in china ,sounds like its a boiling issue as mentioned ,356 porsches were bad for this.
Not seen them (isolators ) for sale but not really ever needed them,CB performance or Bugpack,Aircooled.net maybe.

You can order the insulators from a dealership too, not terrible expensive.

Hi Rich...Found them at aircooled.net. They are 2 to 3 mm thick. Is this adequate?
Much more the that and I'll need to change the studs on the intake manifold.

for the intake to engine spacer just use the appropriate phenolic spacer for an engine with FI. they should help with stud lengths.
