Glad you jumped in here.
I thought that the only odd thing from a 73 2.0 setup was the 012 CHT.
--> No, the 73 2.0L is unlike any other. It is a 1.7L system adapted by using the 1.7L ECU, the special TS2 sensor and a specially calibrated MPS. Other than that it is identical to the 1974 2.0L.
I understand that it should be a (NLA) 017 sensor.
Is the ECU wiring the same for the 037 and 043/044 ECU at the plug?
--> The 73-74 FI harnesses are identical.
Since I cant get a 017 CHT maybe I would be better off with a 043/044 ECU and recalibrate the MPS for that.
What do you think?
The 73 2.0 and 74 2.0 are both excellent systems, they just need to use the correct parts that are all matched to each other. If you have a 73 2.0L ECU and MPS, just find the right TS2 and ballast resistor. Once operating temp is reached, the TS2 is not a factor, so it is only in play upon cold start-up.
