Realized I hadn't changed my appraisal in 10 years, and with all the horror stories you see on here, I thought it was time.

I've attached some pictures (insurance just requires 2 exterior and 1 interior). Previous owner offered me $25K (CDN) last year but I think that's low.

Very little (never say no) rust

What do you think?

$25,000. - $30,000. USD at least if your car is as nice as it looks. Insure it for at least that. If you pay for the higher amount and get agreed value that is what they should pay you for it. Your PO at $18,000. Was way off base.

It would cost you at least $50K to have a shop build a replacement so don't short change yourself.

Your in the same boat that a lot of us six conversions owners find ourselves in. Meaning the 6 cylinder engine is worth just as much or more then the car.
I am looking at putting a 50K insurance tag on my car.

Yeh id say 39k

But what its worth and what someone will pay
And what it would cost to duplicate it are all different.

Parts alone are almost impossible to find now a days

But i do kinda feel sorry for anyone with a 914 worth a lot of $

Atleast for me ,its not about what the cars worth .

How much fun /enjoyment can you get out of it
When you put a price on your memories

Let me know .

Remember, money is something to throw off the back of trains

Thanks guys.

I'm getting various quotes from insurance. The issue right now is that it was put in "modified" category because of the engine swap. That basically doubles the insurance rate over the "stock" category. Not a huge deal in the overall scheme of things, but a pain none the less.

If it's not a daily driver Hagerty is what I have. Stated value.

Settled on $65K CDN.

It was able to be classified as stock vehicle due to changes in their policies.
