Walmart? Never. Not even for this.

It's probably also at Target for those that hate Walmart. I'm just your typical CSOB 914 owner who refuses to pay more.

But the interesting "people" watching cant be beat there.

Those never make it to the shelves in my area, too many ebay flippers here !

Same here, the clerk told me that people line up Tuesday mornings to go through the new inventory - I like this but will not fight them that early.
Steve - buy a bunch and sell them to us. haha

I bought the only two that were there at my Laguna Niguel Walmart. I also bought the only 962 that was there. It's a 5 item collector series. I didn't bother picking up the 935 or the Japanese cars

Damn Steve I think I'll race on down to the foothill ranch Walmart and push people over and see if I can score one

The flippers pay off the sore employees to pick the specific cars they want before they even get to the shelves. They rifle the boxes in the back, peel off the list of specific models the flippers are after then get their employee discount and the cars all end up on ebay or the swap meets for a full 100% + mark up.

Some times you can get lucky at an obscure grocery store or drug store and actually find one... I gave up trying years ago...

I'll likely waste 2 hours tomorrow looking for some. Missed most of the collector series cars and notably the 914 by being late to the hunt.

Interesting thread. I had no idea that Hot Wheels did 914's or even Porsches in general for that matter.

Matchbox and Hot Wheels both have 914 collectibles. They run a big batch and then disappear for a year or so.
Do a search on Matchbox and or Hot Wheels to see everyone's collection.

I hit all the Wal-marts and grab lots of Porsches, but not for ebay, I use them in my gift bags at swap meets. I tried to buy directly from Mattel but they wouldn't sell to me, since I don't have a store-front. Even though I said I was giving them away.

So if you've been missing out, meet me at the next swap and grab a FREE gift bag, there might be a car inside!

Walmart still getting more in.
Didn't see the Mazda or NSX this time.
I just noticed that the 914 is the Magnus Walker edition, but no where on the box does it mention it.

Scored a couple of 914's and the MOMO 935 at Target yesterday. Passed on the 962. They're around if you are looking.

Alright! The hunt is on. I live in the middle of nowhere so that may help.

I collected waaaayyy too many of the matchbox ones (all colors and over 100) and will be selling them off in batches someday. Too many boxes, what was I thinking? It would suck to sell individually and I had the same idea as Unobtanium with putting them in gift bags or some such. I have good plans, just not enough time in a day. However, I am, trying to collect all that come up...I just may not grab everyone I see like last time.

I only bought $20 worth and left a couple on the shelf.
(Gotta leave a few to raise the next generation right. Plus, I'm a CSOB. Why are they $3.49 not 99 cents?)

I went by K-Mart yesterday and took a look at their small section. Not a thing.

Dr. Evil, if you are looking to sell off some of your matchbox 914's pm me. Maybe I can purchase some of them from you.

As for these little cars, I collect most anything Porsche, diecast, signs, etc. But I am happy to see our favorite Porsche getting some respect! Cheers!

Hit my local target, then the next one, then the next one, finally got to JPs and bought the 6 914s on shelf and one each of the others. So thanks JP for leaving them for me

Still a few of the 935 and 962 and other 2 if someone is looking.

I'm also on the wait list at the second store if they get more in. Mostly I think the girl wanted my number It's good to look 33 at 43 but telling the truth is an instant dealbreaker with the 20somethings.
