I was there on Saturday and was amazed how many 914 were racing. I think I counted 5 or 6 of them. In the afternoon a 914 took 1st with many 911s trailing far behind. Will try to post my iPhone pics if I can manage.

That was my tangerine 914-6 in the Porsche Park and was in downtown Elkhart Saturday night. Frank Beck was running the tangerine 914-6 that won the race you saw. He owns a shop in Arizona "Becks European".

I was told by the builders it is a Mitsubishi, made as a tribute. Still super cool!

Great event! First time I took my oldest son to Elkhart (I'd been going with my dad since the mid 60's) was to the historics in the late 80's. More of a family atmosphere and lots to look at it. Needless to say my son was impressed... one of the first cars he saw was a F40. We were BOTH impressed!

Oh sure that rings a bell.. That 914 was mess when I got it.. Needed floors, longs, firewall etc.. Oh wait just about everything my current car has had replaced.. I did that car when I was 18.. Looks like they ditched the wheel spacers..

Yeah the Beck #59 was seriously hauling the mail. Watched the Sunday race from the back straight and the sounds were incredible. Click to view attachment
Thanks for the great pics. I was last up there for vintage weekend about 7-8 years ago. We had a blast!
