The Central Jersey VW Society is having its 13th annual "All Air Cooled Gathering" in Flanders NJ on Sunday September 17, 2017. As in the the past I'm inviting all 914 owners (who now have there own judging class) along with any model air cooled Porsche to show their pride and joy. Last year we had over 300 air cooled cars. The venue is really unique in that it's held at a private German Social Club with a beautiful full grass soccer field (actually several fields) along with German food and beer on tap in the 30's style clubhouse. As with last year we added another day of camping Friday, September 15th along with Saturday, September 16th, with the show and swap meet on Sunday September 17th. Commercial air cooled vehicles will be the featured model for 2017.

This is a charity event with a portion of the proceeds will help Operation Jersey Cares, an organization that provides support and care for current and past NJ Combat Veterans. There will also be a swap area with parts vendors both new and used, raffle prizes, 50/50, Valve Cover Races, kids coloring contest, along with a DJ for music entertainment. "Dyno Don" from California will MC the event. Also, the event will be covered by Bruce Simurda for an up and coming feature in Hot VW's magazine.

Don't forget the party Saturday night featuring a live rock and roll band in the clubhouse This is truly a family event with activities and contests for kids and adults alike.

A lot of life roadblocks in the way at the moment though between now and then.

It's actually the rest of your car that is stellar. Don't go crazy underneath, since it's not worth that many points. Our mission is not to scare anyone away by bashing their under carriage. After all, we ENCOURAGE driving your car to the event and to relax and have fun.

I'm originally from central Jersey. My Mom always warned me about you people from up north. Since I've had to cancel my Okteenerfest trip , I'll have to ignore her warnings. I'll be dragging Dion along for immoral support. It will by my first show since the car is done. You guys will have first shot at scrutineering!! See you then.

We have confirmed that the show will be covered in a future issue of HOT VW'S. Someone from the magazine is flying out from California to photograph and document the event.

Make sure you detail your car and wear clean underwear!

We will be attending, but there's a decent chance without the car. Had shoulder surgery and may not be able to deal with non power steering, never mind shifting. Fingers crossed.

Commercial Air Cooled vehicles are honored this year. We always try to come up with a special item for those that bring the featured car.

Weather is looking great for Sunday! Put 130+ miles on the car this week. Should be able to make it there and back without calling AAA! Looking forward to seeing everyone

A report from campers last night is that the campground is filling rapidly. If you plan on camping better get there as soon as you can.
