What is better to post parts on ebay or 914 classified? is the auction option better or should I try to determine a price?

You'll need to have a (at least rough) idea of the price, regardless of where you try to sell it.

An auction without a reserve could potentially result in missing out on a lot of money ...

What Andy said.

If you know the value, sell it here and avoid the fees.

If it's a rare part and you know at least two guys that would fight over it, eBay it.

Guys here have an idea what it's worth. The classifieds here are not bidding like ebay, so you will need to do your homework to make sure your price is fair. Otherwise, they may sit for awhile.
