Full Version: Installing trailing arm bushing pain

Finally got around to buying and installing Elephant Racing rubber. Things were going well until they weren't. The bushing got pushed all the way in.

What are my options?

I am still having nightmares and flashbacks from when I installed those.

Thank you that was helpful. It really is a bitch without a press. I felt very defeated today and just felt like throwing in the towel.
I will have another go at it tomorrow.

Hunh.....what happened Ravi?

I installed the hard poly bushings that Eric sells.


It is my understanding that you need a press to install the elephant ones.

I still wake up screaming...
I think we used about a gallon of soap but they went in properly eventually.

Try glycerin next time. Not soap. Be generous with the stuff.

You might just stop and buy the poly bronze bushings. They were painless for me.

i will keep trying. Kent offered to use his press which I will but it won't be in time for next weekends 914 gathering.
