Has anybody installed a crank sensor without dropping the engine?

Any and all guidance and leadership is greatly appreciated.

I haven't done it (I installed on a bench), but the one from The Dub Shop just required you to pull the fan shroud which can be done in-car IIRC, so you should be able to install without a drop.

You can do it. It ins't fun, especially if you don't have a lift.

You have to:
*remove all the front engine tin
*prop up the engine with a jack
*drop the front of the engine down a few inches. It will be pivoting on the trans-mounts, so you don't want to lower it too far.
*pull the dog house. Pull the fan.
*install the trigger and hall sensor.
Install is reverse of disassembly.

Thanks to all.

Unless there's some overwhelming reason why you shouldn't, (doubtful) drop the engine. It's a bit daunting the first time, but that will allow so many other "while I'm in theres" to occur, it will be well worth it.

It's really not difficult. Just requires being methodical and careful. Good luck.
